A Dynodex record must always be listed either by Business or by Name. The information by which a record is listed is called the "First Line". The "List By Business/Name" Command changes the “First Line” data from Business to Name or from Name to Business for the current record.
This command lets you decide how to list records on a case-by-case basis. If the record is listed by "Business", choosing this command will toggle it to list by "Name", and the "First Line" data will be "First Name+Last Name". If the record is listed by "Name", choosing this command will toggle it to list by "Business", and the "First Line" data will be "Business". Clicking on the "Business/Name" button (the first one) in the icon palette will also change the way a record is listed.
You can set Dynodex to automatically list "Business" or "Name" as the First Line data (see "First Line Pref" in "Preferences").
In the Dynodex entry screen, the First Line field is identified for each record by whether the top icon displays an "N" or a "B". In the Dynodex DA, the First Line field is identified by a bullet to the left of the "Business" or "Name" field label.
